Immediately before adjournment, Councillor McKenna, made the observation that it was a privilege to win a council seat and even more a privilege to win it alongside three terrific and intelligent women.

“More women need to be involved in politics [even though] barriers such as child care might get int the way. I was delighted that councillor Dwyer felt comfortable enough to bring her sick child here, and I want to support her both as a woman in politics and as a mother (as well as the other women councillors) that this is the kind of council and kind of community that welcomes women and that there should be no barriers to women being involved in politics.”
