Changes are being made to the triage area in the Emergency Department at Almonte General Hospital. The goal is to improve how patients access care and to enhance privacy.
“When patients and families come to Emergency, they are in crisis and need immediate care and support,” notes Randy Shaw, Integrated Vice President, Corporate Support Services. “The new triage area will provide a better patient experience.”
The work begins in early November and is expected to take about six weeks. During this time, patients can still access the Emergency Department through the Emergency entrance. Once inside, signage will guide them to the triage area. The parking and drop-off zones are not affected.
“We expect disruptions will be minimal and we thank everyone for your patience,” adds Randy Shaw.
