Lanark County OPP charge man in Lanark Village robbery

As part of an ongoing investigation of a robbery in the Township of Lanark, detectives from the crime unit Lanark County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 39-year old man from Perth.

Bryan Mordy has been charged with robbery using a firearm, wearing disguise with intent and two counts of pointing a firearm.

The investigation started at 12:19 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 when officers from the Lanark County OPP responded to an emergency call regarding a robbery at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) site on Clarence Street in the Village of Lanark.

No one was injured in the incident. The suspects fled on foot

Two local elementary schools were placed in “hold and secure” mode to ensure the safety of the children and staff.
The investigation is still active and ongoing.
