CBC was in Smiths Falls this on March 6 and broadcasting from the Coffee Culture Café. Host Robyn Bresnahan opened the show at 5:30 a.m. and talked to residents and politicians over the next three hours. CBC chose Smiths Falls,  highlighting it as a town in transition with Tweed (Canopy Growth) and Le Boat quickly coming on stream.

Smiths Falls notables that were interviewed by Bresnahan were Mayor Shawn Pankow; Rideau Candy Shop owner Sheldon Giff; Becky Allen, Executive Director of the Smiths Falls Chamber of Commerce; and Prim Singh, owner of Wonton Crunch. Lots of curious passersby came in for free coffee from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., and stayed to listen.
