Shawn Pankow signed and submitted papers today to take a second run for the top spot in the Town of Smiths Falls. If he wins this will be his third term on council, the first one being as a councillor. The election is October 22.

Pankow, 53 in September, says his job is still “unfinished. I want to be part of the progress and change” in the Town. “We’re seeing a lot of positive change now,” he says, “and development like we haven’t seen before. I want to help the resurgent in the community.

“I’m not finished yet. I want to play a role.”

Door knocking, he figures, probably won’t start until September and by that time he will have his election platform nailed down.
Pankow grew up in Smiths Falls, is married to Tracey, and has seven children, three still dependent.

Councillor Joe Gallipeau has also submitted papers to run for mayor; Councillor Chris Cummings has decided not to run, and newcomer Ken Manwell has submitted papers to take a run for council.

Sure he did he was just waiting to see who was going to run against him. Well I hope he gets a real good run for his money.
