Of the $5,000 Perth Council gave to the Community Improvement Plan for enhancements involving accessibility and safety, $4,000 remains.

The entirety of that amount will be used to provide funding for installing ramps in and around the town on a first-come, first-served basis from now until the end of 2017.

So far, 10 businesses have indicated interest.

As Perth is a heritage town and the downtown has many heritage buildings, there are some that could use the money to provide safe entrances for those using walkers and canes. Each portable ramp costs just $125.
