Smiths Falls economic development plan gets final approval

Following an unusual amount of discussion during a council meeting, Smiths Falls council finally passed a motion at the Sept. 9 meeting to receive and endorse the economic development and tourism plan prepared the economic development department.

“I agree that it’s a good plan but a couple items in the budget bear some further discussion,” said Jay Brennan, Smiths Falls councilor.

In particular Brennan pointed to the Excelerator and the physician recruitment line items listed in the department’s budget in Appendix B of the economic development and tourism plan.
