The Town of Smiths Falls is pleased to announce that Mr. Rick Chesebrough has been appointed as the Town’s new Fire Chief. Mr. Chesebrough joins a long list of esteemed fire services professionals that have held the post since the Fire Department was established as a Fire Brigade in 1852.
Rick comes to the Town of Smiths Falls with over 30 years of experience as a fire services professional and volunteer. His most recent leadership position was Fire Chief for the Township of South Frontenac where he held the post for the past 15 years. Rick is a respected emergency management leader with extensive experience managing all aspects of fire department operations. He has been a Certified Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) for 14 years; experience that will serve the Town well as we fulfill new municipal responsibilities as it relates to emergency management planning.
Mr. Chesebrough is a certified Health and Safety officer and also has considerable expertise in fire services legislation and compliance. He is a member of the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs and has been committed to continuous learning throughout his career.

Mr. Chesebrough will commence his new career on Monday, June 18, 2018 and will be based at
the Fire Station within the Smiths Falls Municipal Complex at 77 Beckwith Street North.
