Top 3 issues facing your municipality and its residents that council has control or major influence over:
There is a lack of confidence in the governance of Tay Valley. There is a perception that it is difficult to build in Tay Valley Township. Much of Tay Valley’s taxes come from residential and seasonal property owners; relatively little from business. There is need to expand the cell phone coverage in the Township
Your solutions/approach to those 3 issues:
My commitment is to work collaboratively with the new Council, to restore stability, productive management and confidence in Tay Valley and ensure that all policies and bylaws to serve all members of the community
The sustainability of a community can be determined by tracking the assessment base which is a direct result of new housing and business construction. The new Council together with staff must ensure that prospective home and business owners and their builders receive timely processing and support during the application and inspection process.
The health of the lakes and rivers has to be maintained so as to sustain lake property values ensuring their contribution to our assessment base.
Township roads with safety deficiencies should be upgraded supported by the pursuit of government funding and grants.
A new government program is available to expand Cell Phone Coverage. I will champion this initiative. and others leading to the best connectivity to support community and economic development.
Do you own (or have a stake in) or operate a commercial/industrial business in your municipality? (Including vacant development lands or rental units): Home owner
