The Memorial Center was filled with well over a thousand excited Bears fans during the Tuesday March Break with the Bears fan appreciation event, which turned out to be a smashing success. From skating with the Bears and their mascot, over pizza and cake, to Bears face and tattoo painting and price raffles, there was something for everyone.

The annual trophy presentation as well as the presentation of the draft picks also happened just before the start of the last regular season home game.

Unfortunately the bears couldn’t bring home a win in the game against the Kemptville 73s.

The first and only goal during the first period goal was scored by Tate Leeson at the 14:32 mark, with help from Bruce Coltart and Fletcher Anderson.

The second period stood under the name of the burning hot Kemptville team, shooting no less than three goals, one at 0:45 by Madoka Suzuki, the next by Cameron McLean at 2:05, and the third by Jeff Taylor at 16:03.

However the Bears put all their powers into closing the gab during he third period. Mitchell Larabie scored at 7:05, assisted by Tate Leeson and Fletcher Anderson. Anderson himself went on to shoot the equalizing goal at 8:14 during a powerplay advantage. Assists were credited to Mitchell Larabie and Joey Warywoda. But 73’s Nicholas Domitrovic pushed his team to the lead again with a score at 15:27. A last ditch effort by the Bears with a sixth player instead of a goalie only resulted by Kemptville’s Madoka Suzuki hitting yet another score into the empty net.

First Star was awarded to Madoka Suzuki (KEM), Second Star went to Fletcher Anderson, and Third Star went to Cameron McLean (KEM).
