Bears get their mojo back against the Rockland Nationals

Did the Bears find their mojo back during Tuesday’s game against the Rockland Nationals? The answer is a definite MAYBE. Yes, they took away the 5:1 win and displayed a number of downright amazing feats, but the fact remains that the team still has a lot of open construction sites which also made their presence felt. The Bears are still much to hesitant to go into the offensive, Rockland on the contrary had no problem to launch attacks even shorthanded. Ugly penalties also accompanied the game, getting a ten minute penalty for Harassment of an Official takes some real effort.

Rockland opened scoring at the 13:43 mark in the first period with a goal by Noah Doyle. Theo Todd, assisted by Noah Adams and Tate Leeson, put the Bears onto the score board at 15:08. Not content with just one goal, Theo pumped the next puck into the net at only 15:25, assisted by Cameron McLean and Tate Leeson.

The second period only saw one further goal, shot by Cade Helmer, with the assist going to Justin Trudel.

Then it was Reid Russett’s turn, scoring a power play goal at 13:54 in the third period, assisted by Theo Todd and Ryan Richardson. Tate Leeson, assisted by Shawn Sloan rounded out the scoring for the Bears with an almost impossibly perfect timing at 20:00 flat.

First Star of the game went to Theo Todd, Second Star went to goalie Victor Desjardins, and Noah Doyle (ROC) took away Third Star.

The next home game happens Friday at 7:30pm, when the Bears welcome Kemptville to town.
