When it comes to the matter of hockey, there is absolutely no love lost between the two longtime Lanark county rivals of Smiths Falls and Carleton Place. The Bears ultimately drew the short end of the stick in the fast paced and very physical Friday night game against the Carleton Place Canadians in a 2-0 shutout loss.

Ryland Mosley of the Canadians sent the puck past goalie Bradley Dobson for a power play goal at 5.55 in the first period of the game.

Zachary Tupker followed with another score at 8.08 in the second period.

The Bears tried a last ditch effort to turn fortunes around by switching the goalie for a sixth player in the final minute of play, but it was too late.

Goal tender Bradley Dobson stopped 23 out of a total of 25 shots, while his Canadians counterpart Connor Murphy had no problem to stop the meager 11 shots at his net.

First Star of the game went to Connor Murphy (CPC), second to Bradley Dobson, and Third Star to Zachary Tupker (CPC).
