What better way to showcase Rideau Lakes than to recognize those businesses that deliver outstanding results. Such an event can be made even more influential if it is rotated across the unique Town Halls of the Township. This was and remains an initiative that I, Arie Hoogenboom, launched and am passionate about.
This year the Business Recognition Breakfast held this past Friday in the Morton Town Hall was a sellout! The Breakfast was truly over the top and the conversation amongst business and government was robust.
Our federal Member of Parliament Michael Barrett was in attendance and provided some insight and support, along with a little levity at his early departure to be present in the day’s Question Period.
The Business of the Year recipient this year was Hinton Auto Group who operate on the upper edge of the Township, are reflective of our approach, which is no person is an island. Hinton Auto have been sensational supporters of numerous local events and fundraisers in Rideau Lakes Township.
The Business Innovation Award went to Elgin & District Cooperative Nursery School, operating as a non-profit for children from 2-5 years of age and recently expanded to include a before and after care in South Crosby School.
The winner of the Young Entrepreneur Award was Mark Hales of Hales Excavation & Trucking. Operating for 8 years Mark donates his knowledge and time to ensure charitable projects he is a part of, are delivered on budget.
