The Carleton Place Canadians clinched a win on March 5, 2017 beating the Smiths Falls Bears 2-1 in overtime at the Carleton Place Arena. After a goalless first period, the Bears’ Michael McKenney and the Canadians’ Connor Merkley both scored one goal in the second period. No goals were scored in the third period leading to overtime where Canadians’ Justin Cmunt scored the winning goal.

The Canadians are still sitting at first place in the league with 98 points. The Bears are in seventh place with 53 points.
