The Smiths Falls Junior A Bears hosted the Carleton Place Canadians on home ice on Friday, Nov. 24 in front of a large crowd of 466.

After a strong start with an early score by #14 forward Marc Shannon at the 4.45 mark in the first period, Smiths Falls lost a bit of their usual zeal. Carleton Place’s Aidan Girduckis (#6) scored shortly thereafter with a powerplay goal, and #27 Shawn Kennedy of the Canadians pushed Carleton Place to a lead in the first period.

The second period saw no scoring even though the Canadians dominated the ice for much of the period, outshooting the Bears 15 to 7. The Bears found back to their game in the third period, but their vigorous effort to level the score did not see a reward in the end. Canadians #16 Samuel Knoblauch and # 6 Connor Hill scored two more goals in the third period (the latter one into the empty net).

First star went to Girduckis, second star to Shannon, and third star to Knoblauch.
