Drug warrant at grow operation results in charges

On Monday, July 11 2016 members of the Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by members of Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.) warrant to search at a commercial property in Beckwith Township, which led to the arrest of Adam Gunderson-Lord, 37,  and John Armstrong, 36, of Ottawa.

During the investigation the following items were seized:

• 2012 cannabis marihuana plants in various stages of growth.
• 25 pounds of cannabis marihuana bud
• 26 grams of cannabis resin (hash)
• hydroponic growing equipment

The following charges were laid against Gunderson-Lord:

• production of a schedule II substance- cannabis marihuana
• possession of a schedule II substance-cannabis Resin

The following charges were laid against Armstrong:

• production of a schedule II substance- cannabis marihuana

Both accused men were held in custody and a bail hearing on July 13th, 2016, and released on a recognizance of bail at Ontario Court of Justice, Perth, ON. Both will appear in court on August 15th, 2016.
