Great start to Thanksgiving weekend for the Bears

The start of the Thanksgiving weekend couldn’t have been better for the Bears. An amazingly large crowd of no less than 450 people flocked to the Den for fan appreciation night  to be rewarded with a great game that saw the Bears take away a 4:0 win over the Carleton Place Canadians.

The first period saw no scoring until Theo Todd broke the stale-mate at 17:50 for the first goal of the night in favour of the Bears. Tate Leeson and Stuart Martin assisted for it.

Brendan Dempsey continued the lucky streak for the team with a score 16:11 into the second period, with the assists credited to Alex Lewis and Wyatt Villalta. A powerplay advantage gave Tate Leeson, helped by Bruce Colart, the chance to score next  at 17:58.

Nicolas Lariviere sent the puck into the Canadian’s net at the 15:55 mark of the third period during powerplay for the final score of the game, assisted by Wyatt Villalta and Andrew McKinney.

The Bears goalie Victor Desjardins took home First Star for 27 saves out of 27, Brendan Dempsey was rewarded with Second Star, and Canadian’s goalie Addison Lawrence received Third Star.

Next Friday’s home game on the 7:30pm on the 18th will be Pink In The Rink! in support of the Cancer Society.
