Perth council passed a bylaw on May 16 to hire a student to provide landscape maintenance and restoration services to Inge-va. Staff asked for Councils approval to enter into an agreement with Algonquin College and Ontario Heritage Trust.

Algonquin College will select the student from its Horticultural Industries Program and provide technical oversight; the student will be required to map the existing gardens, clarify restoration concepts and guide future planning by preparing an inventory, survey and photographs of the existing plantings, and to provide garden maintenance.

The town would employ and supervise the student and the Ontario Heritage Trust would pay the wages.

The job will extend from May 1 to September 1 for a maximum total of $14,000.
