Community volunteer experience (service clubs, local committees, fundraising, etc): Lanark Legion, Lanark Highland Youth Centre Board of Directors, Save our School Campaign (Maplegrove), Frosty Fling Winter Carnival, Christmas Parade, former Board Member on several provincial and national non-profit & cultural organizations.
Top 3 issues facing your municipality and its residents that council has control or major influence over: Top three issues are 1) saving the Lanark Community Arena, 2) restoring respect & relationships with members of the Lanark Fire Service, and 3) building sewer & water infrastructure for better health & safety in Lanark Village, and to attract new business and residents to grow the economy & keep taxes down.
Your solutions/approach to those 3 issues: My approach to all three issues is the same. Hard work and common sense. Involve the community, be open and accountable to ratepayers and to work co-operatively as a team at Council. We haven’t had that in Lanark for the last four years.
