Last week we saw not one, but two home games for the Bears, but only one was played at the den.
The first game, we saw the Bears facing the Cornwall Colts at the CCHL Winter Showcase Tuesday in Kemptville. The team delivered a solid 5-2 win, with goals shot by Joey Warywoda, Tate Leeson, Scott Gervais, and two by Jacob Shankar.
The Bears had their claws out for the Friday night game as well, catching a nice 5-2 win over the visiting Nepean Raiders.
Alexandre Way started scoring 2:41 into the first period, a short handed goal assisted by Jacob Cuffley. At 5:39 team mate Reid Russett, helped by Alexandre Way and Jacob Shankar, added a powerplay goal. Tate Leeson continued with yet another powerplay score, assisted by Theo Todd and Bruce Coltart. Grant Rincke rounded off scoring for the period with a goal at the 12:09 mark, supported by Jacob Shankar and Noah Romeo.
Nepean came back in the second period as a more formidable opponent, with Matt McQuade putting the Raiders onto the scoreboard with a goal at 2:08. Theo Todd gave the Bears the fifth score of the evening, with assists credited to Ethan Coltart and Tate Leeson.
The lone goal of the third period was shot by Nepean’s Cole Lavoie at the 17:30 mark.
