Top 3 issues facing your municipality and its residents that council has control or major influence over: Balancing delivery services with fair taxes; transforming our Community Strategic Plan into action; and Economic Development Strategic Plan.
Your solutions/approach to those 3 issues:
Over the last year we implemented an Organizational Review to improve the efficiency of the delivery of services and will continue to do this. We should continue developing partnerships with our neighboring municipalities for innovative ways to deliver shared services.
Community Strategic Plan: In 2017 the township embarked on its very first strategic planning process. Establishing long term priorities will provide us with expectations for the future. We surveyed the community in early 2018 to ask what their vision of the community is for the future ,This excellent feedback will be incorporated into our long range plans.
Economic Development Strategic Plan: This plan was completed in 2017-18 and contains a number of recommendations for the township to achieve better economic sustainability. Further upper tier funding will be used to implement a number of initiatives including the development of a visual identity for the township.
Do you own (or have a stake in) or operate a commercial/industrial business in your municipality? (Including vacant development lands or rental units): I own a 130 acre farm.
