Committee of the Whole authorized the Mayor and Clerk to sign a 2018 Letter of Understanding between the town and the District Chamber of Commerce, which included a $10,000 contribution by the town for another year.

Some of the economic activities would include an accreditation program and leadership conference at Algonquin College Perth Campus, a block party for businesses on Hwy 7 and Hwy 511, on-site tourism support, attending a Travel and Vacation Show to promote Perth, and updating the visitor guide to Perth.

Each item has its own budget and activities would have to be accounted for and invoiced before receiving money. The bylaw will go to council on Nov. 28.
