No such luck for the Bears last Friday against Kemptville

Bears Game Dec 13
Posted on: December 17, 2019

Friday the 13th didn’t bring the Bears much luck, some spectators even said the team was robbed of the win. Kemptville took away the 2:1 win in overtime that night, their fifth win in a row.

No scores were recorded for the first period, but the Bears finally made headway with a score by Brody Fournier at 17:04 in the second period, assisted by Wyatt Villalta and Brendan Dempsey.

Kemptville tried desperately to catch up during the third period, and then at 12:55 the game tipping incident happened. Wyatt Villeta tried to stop a dash forward by Chase Broda and both players collided full speed. Villeta not just collected a Major-Check To The Head penalty of 5 minutes, but also a 10 minute Game Misconduct penalty, and the officials added a 10 minute Abuse of Official Misconduct penalty on top for Cameron McLean, while the spectators in the ranks loudly voiced their displeasure of the decision. The rest is history. Jared Patterson “C” scored the equalizer for Kemptville at 16:25 and then moved on to nail the win to the board a mere 13 seconds into overtime.

Brody Fournier collected First Star, Victor Desjardins Second Star, and Jared Patterson “C” (KEM) walked away with Third Star.

The next home game is this Friday at 7:30pm, when the Bears face Carleton Place.
