Beckwith Township man charged with sex offences

CARLETON PLACE – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Beckwith Township resident with sexual offences.

Officers began an investigation on Saturday, October 18, 2025, regarding allegations of sexual assault involving a child occurring between 2012 and 2019. As the result the investigation a 52-year-old man was arrested and charged with:

  • Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age
  • Sexual interference
  • Invitation to sexual touching

The male was released from custody and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
