OPP investigating fatal collision Hwy 511 Closed

Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue to investigate a fatal collision on Highway 511 north of the intersection with White Lake Road in the Township of Lanark Highlands.

OPP were called to the scene 02:09pm on Sunday September 9, 2018. Initial investigation revealed that a single vehicle, a Honda motor cycle, was traveling southbound on Hwy 511 when it left the roadway.

The passenger, Joanne CIPHERY (54 years) of the Town of Renfrew, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, Brian ROBINSON (57 years) of the Town of Pembroke, sustained major injuries and was transported by Air Ambulance to Hospital in the City of Ottawa.

The Highway was closed for approximately 5 hours.
