Saturday, April 29 was a perfect day. The rain held off, the sun peeped out and people slowly walked Gore Street in Perth from top to bottom, eating and tasting from one end to the other. Perths Festival of the Maples drew onlookers from all over. They savoured the sweet mellowness of one of Canadas most recognizable cuisines at the many stop-and-enjoy vendors along the four blocks cordoned off for the day.

From laying bricks to roasting marshmallows, from Hann the OPP canine dog to Anne Raina the author, people strolled, danced to street music, met friends and enjoyed the day.

The annual event is hosted by Perth & District Chamber of Commerce and touts the fact Lanark County is the maple syrup capital of Ontario. Funds raised help keep the festival going.
