Currently Retired or Working (where?): Retired from the federal public service.
Former Elected Positions/Terms if applicable: I was first elected in North Crosby Ward in 2010 and reelected in 2014. I hope to represent the new ward of North Crosby – Newboro.
Community volunteer experience (service clubs, local committees, fundraising, etc): My community service has included volunteering with the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Lions Club and Royal Canadian Legion. As a Councillor, I have served on the Library Board, the Westport Rideau Lakes Chamber of Commerce, the North Crosby Hall Board, and the Recreation and Beautification Committees. I was the Chair of the Economic Development Committee.
Top 3 issues facing your municipality and its residents that council has control or major influence over: Infrastructure, marketing, and future planning.
Your solutions/approach to those 3 issues: Investing in our infrastructure through better use of tax revenues and fees, while seeking stable funding from other orders of government. Marketing our Township to grow businesses in tourism and services, drawing in both young families and retirees. Getting residents, lake and road associations involved in planning the future of our community, including maximizing the environmental, heritage and cultural resources of this paradise that is Rideau Lakes for future generations.
