The Bears delivered a solid 5-1 win over the Kanata Lasers during their Friday night home game in front of a crowd of 255 people.
Alex DiCarlo opened the scoring season at 4.04 in the first period, with assists credited to Theo Todd and Ethan Coltart.
Bruce Coltart continued adding to the scoreboard with a goal early into the second period at 1.08, assisted by Joey Warywoda and Theo Todd.
Kanata countered with a power play goal by Connor Sleeth ath 4.49 in the third period, narrowing the gap. But it was the Bear’s night, and the following three scores all belonged to the home team. Alex DiCarlo shot his second goal of the evening at 6.23, assisted by Joey Waywoda and Theo Todd. Then it was Joey Waywoda’s turn with a power play score at 13.23 with help from Alex DiCarlo and Zack Pilon. And Brian Bygrave finished off the game with the last score at 17.57, assisted by Jacob Cuffley and Mitchell Larabie.
Both teams sent 33 shots each towards the net during the game, Dobson only let one slide past him, while Carriere missed five.
First Star of the evening went to Alex DiCarlo, Second Star to Joey Warywoda, and Third Star to Connor Sleeth.
