The new Shout Sister choir is off to a good start with upwards of 30 women coming to the first meeting, which was held on Wednesday, Sept. 13.
The choir meets in Smiths Falls every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Trinity United Church, 41 Market St. N. and is for anyone who likes to sing — even if you aren’t the greatest singer.
One member describes the felling as thrilling when she heard all 30 female voices singing together.
The first night is free, and people are encouraged to come and see they like the camaraderie and the music; from then on it’s singing for the joy of singing! The church is accessible, and the choir is open to all ethnicities, all persuasions, all disabilities, all orientations; it’s all inclusive.
But there are two rules – no criticism, and be nice.

It’s fun! The music is great. We sure could use some alto and tenor singers to balance out those diva sopranos!
