The Smiths Falls Bears had to endure another tough loss on home ice this Tuesday, loosing 3-6 against the Brockville Braves.
The Braves opened scoring early on with a goal by Fred Allaire a mere 25 seconds into the game, followed by a power-play goal at 11.22 by Nicholas Hawkins. Brian Bygrave, assisted by Adam Church and Zack Pilon, answered with a score at 13.09, bringing the Bears back into the game. But Brockville’s Evan Kula widened the gab again just seconds later with a goal at the 13.15 mark. Bruce Coltart, with help by Tate Leeson and Noah Romeo, then sent the puck into the net at 14.39.
Bailey Kirwin shot a score for the Braves at the 3.54 mark in the second period. But the Bears didn’t give up and even managed a shorthand goal by Mitchell Larabie at 12.23, assisted by Noah Romeo and Ryan Richardson. Fred Allaire then shot a goal quickly thereafter at 13.03, his second score of the evening.
The sole goal of the third period was netted by Joshua Spratt, bringing the total count on the score board to 6-3 in favour of the Braves.
The Braves are recorded with 42 shots at the net versus 35 for the Bears.
First Star of the evening went to Fred Allaire of the Braves, Second Star went to Noah Romeo of the Bears, and Third Star went to Evan Kula of the Braves.
