Smiths Falls Bears climb to first place in Robinson Division

SMITHS FALLS — The Bears dominated the ice this week, racking up wins against Nepean, Carleton Place, and Cornwall.

On Wednesday, the Smiths Falls Bears pulled off an impressive 12–4 victory against the Nepean Raiders, delivering a scoring bonanza.

The momentum carried into Friday night’s home game against the Carleton Place Canadians, where the Bears earned a 3–0 shutout. Carter Beauchesne broke the scoreless first period at 5:46 in the second, assisted by D.J. Ott and Dean Carvalho. Teammate Tyson Parker extended the lead at 9:15, again assisted by Carvalho. A power-play opportunity early in the third period allowed Beauchesne to score once more at 1:35, with assists credited to Jacob Smith and Tyson Parker.

Smiths Falls outshot the Canadians 50–24, securing the 3–0 win. Goalie Brett Ruddy earned first star honours, Carter Beauchesne took second star, and Canadians goalie Liam Conway was awarded third star.

The Bears carried that momentum into Sunday’s road game against the Cornwall Colts, winning 3–1. Goals came from Jackson Heron, Alex Fortier, and D.J. Ott.

With 37 points, the Bears have claimed first place in the Robinson Division, one point ahead of Kemptville, and sit third overall in the league standings.
