Despite the recent good run, the Smiths Falls Bears finished off their regular season with a 2-1 loss after a hard fought battle against the Ottawa Junior Senators.
After a scoreless first period, Ottawa’s Griffin McGregor shot the first goal for the game at the 4:20 mark in the second period. Ottawa’s Darcy Walsh widened the lead with a goal in the third period. The Bears chipped away with a goal by Kyle Dowdall, but their valiant efforts to close the game wasn’t enough to turn the fortunes around.
First star of the game went to Ottawa’s Nicholas Cambell, second Star to Smiths Falls’ Bradley Dobson, and third star to Adrien Bisson of Ottawa.
The Bears are back on the ice in Smiths Falls on Jan. 5 when they face off against Kemptville.
