Saddled with an out-of-commission truck once used for snow plowing, the Smiths Falls-Montague Airport Commission has found a solution to the problem.

Councillor Jay Brennan, council’s representative on the commission, reported at a Feb. council meeting that Smiths Falls Director of Public Works and Utilities Troy Dunlop arranged to provide the airport with a surplus truck from the town.

Committee gearing for June festival in Smiths Falls
Smiths Falls Councillor Lorraine Allen reported at a Feb. 6 meeting that the organizing committee for the 2017 Healthy Living Festival has begun meeting weekly to plan the June 17 festival.

This year the festival will share a weekend with Rideau Paddlefest, taking place on Father’s Day, June 18.

Linking the two festivals will be a musical evening on June 17 at the permanent stage at Lower Reach Park, featuring The British Invasion.
