Dawn Quinn Municipal Election Candidate Profile

Name: Dawn Quinn

Municipality: Smiths Falls

Position Sought: Councillor

Currently Retired or Working (where?): Working part time, town councilor

Former Elected Positions/Terms if applicable: I am finishing my fourth term on council.

Community volunteer experience (service clubs, local committees, fundraising, etc): Smiths Falls Home & Living Expo, Urban Jungle, Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario, Christmas Stockings for Seniors that are alone, and fundraising for animal rescues.

Top 3 issues facing your municipality and its residents that council has control or major influence over: Do not raise taxes, replace Centennial Bridge, encourage more growth

Your solutions/approach to those 3 issues:

Taxes: work with staff to control cost, spend money wisely, question why and offer possible solutions.

Replace Centennial Bridge set aside some tax dollars and create fundraising ideas to make this a priority issue.

With growth comes more tax dollars to work with, more industry and tourism creating jobs. Exuding a positive attitude making the town stronger and noticed, making Smiths Falls a destination to play, shop, live and grow.

Do you own (or have a stake in) or operate a commercial/industrial business in your municipality? (Including vacant development lands or rental units): I do run a business and own property.

Hello Dawn, I read the article in SF Record news of the 2018s election. I was wondering if you had any additional information that you would like to share with the people that you hadn’t shared in that article. Sincerely, Suzanne
