Top 3 issues facing your municipality and its residents that council has control or major influence over: Infrastructure maintenance and priorities, growth management, and downtown revitalization and Waterfront development.
Your solutions/approach to those 3 issues:
Our roads and yes our bridges are vital municipal assets. Through continued prudent financial planning and upper tier government support there is no reason why we cannot address what is most important to our taxpayers without raising taxes.
Growth: Council needs to ensure that it focuses on the things that make Smiths Falls such a great place to live. Investments in making sure our youth continue to be given the opportunity to thrive and our seniors receive the support they need are important.
Our downtown and waterfront are linked and we are well on are way to transforming both. With national and international attention on us, Council needs to stay focused and move forward on making the most of the downtown and waterfront, which includes ensuring Victoria Park remains a focal point.
Do you own (or have a stake in) or operate a commercial/industrial business in your municipality? (Including vacant development lands or rental units): Yes I own a home in Smiths Falls.
