Smiths Falls has collected over $230,000 in building permit fees so far in 2017.
In a report to town council’s Committee of the Whole July 24, Clerk Kerry Costello said a total of 45 building permits had been issued as of June 30. The total value of projects under construction in town so far in 2017 is in excess of $18 million.
The major projects in Smith Falls in 2017 include expansion at Tweed Inc., a new Catholic elementary school under construction on Ross Street, 14 new apartments at 2 Gould St., and new homes being constructed by Park View Homes.
Although 106 building permits were issued in 2016, the total value of construction came to $9 million, only half the value of construction projects for the first six months of 2017.
This is GREAT!!! I’m happy to see SF finally growing!!!
