Merrickville Wolford residents turned out in record numbers for this year’s Remembrance Day Service at the Merrickville Cenotaph. The annual ceremony kicked off with a parade leaving the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 245 at 10:30 a.m. The parade was led by local star piper Callum Gauthier and the colour party and included the Merrickville Wolford Mayor David Nash along with special guest His Excellency Jang Hoi Kim, consul general of South Korea followed by members of the Merrickville Scouts carrying the national flag.

Once everyone was gathered at the cenotaph Legion Branch 245 President Lee Horning opened the service with a brief and warm welcome to all. The service continued with brief prayers offered by each of the village pastors and concluded with the signing of the hymn O God Our Help in Ages Past.
