The Bears delivered a sweet 4-1 home ice victory against the Hawkesbury Hawks Tuesday night, to the delight of the 116 spectators.
Noah Romeo flung the first puck into the net at 12:41 with help from Alex DiCarlo, the only goal of the first period.
Late in the second period at 19:52 Theo Todd scored a powerplay goal with assists by Joey Warywoda and Tate Leeson. The Hawks also used a powerplay advantage shortly thereafter to narrow the Bears lead with a score by Jeremie Lavallee at 19:52.
But the Bears came back in the third period, and Bruce Coltart netted a powerplay score at 6:57, assisted by teammates Joey Warywoda and Tate Leeson. Leeson then went on to shoot the last goal of the game into the Hawke’s empty nest at 18:34.
Goal tender Jack Ryan stopped 40 out of a total of 41 shots that night, while the Bears only fired a total of 29 shots.
First Star of the game went well deserved to Jack Ryan, Second Star went to Tate Leeson, and Third Star went to Jeremie Lavallee (HAW).
