Holiday Festivities are underway in Smiths Falls

During Monday evening’s Committee of the Whole meeting, Manager of Tourism and Economic Development Julia Crowder shared a list of upcoming holiday festivities in Smiths Falls.

The popular Merry & Bright gift box program will be running again this year. Preselected gift items in glossy white boxes will be available for purchase from downtown businesses from December 1-24.

The annual Celebration of Lights will commence December 3 in Centennial Park under the water tower. There will be a community event to light up the park from 3-5pm on Dec 3; the lights will be on for walk-through or drive-through enjoyment until the new year.

Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum is fully decorated for the Christmas season. The museum will host a Holiday Heritage House on December 11 at 1pm, which will be a family-friendly event with wagon rides and seasonal music and activities. The Heritage House Museum annual art show is also currently ongoing until December 17.

The CP Holiday Train will be rolling into Smiths Falls at 7pm on Monday November 28. The train will be brilliantly lit with Christmas Lights, and bring musical entertainment: Alberta country singer-songwriter Tenille Townes and Oji-Cree singer-songwriter Aysanabee.

Happy Holidays!
