Fatal collision involving four vehicles closes Hwy 7

Investigation Ongoing

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a fatal collision which resulted in the death of one person.

Lanark County OPP officers, Lanark County Paramedics and Drummond-North Elmsley Firefighters responded to the collision on Highway-7 near Westshore Road, between Perth and Innisville around 10:15 a.m. on January 24, 2024.

The collision involved a transport truck, a pick-up truck and two passenger vehicles.

The driver of the pick-up, a 54-year-old male from Tweed, was pronounced deceased at the scene. One other person was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Lanark OPP continues to investigate, with assistance from OPP Traffic Collision Investigators and a Collision Reconstructionist.

 The highway remained closed for several hours.
