Smiths Falls Police confirm one suspect has been charged and another remains wanted
One suspect outstanding in break-enter investigation
On November 29th, 2025 Smiths Falls Police received information of a break-enter incident from the garage of a residence. Members of the Smiths Falls Police responded to the scene to commence the investigation. Two suspects were identified with the assistance of surveillance camera footage. One suspect was arrested without incident and the second suspect remains outstanding.
As a result of the investigation, 59 year old Guy COTE of Smiths Falls stands charged with trespassing at night (x1) and break-enter a place to commit an indictable offence (x1). The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.
An arrest warrant has been obtained for the second suspect. 37 year old Jordan WILKINSON of Smiths Falls is wanted for trespassing at night (x1) and break-enter a place to commit an indictable offence (x1).

IPV Charges laid in dispute
On November 20th, 2025 Smiths Falls Police received a 9-1-1 call alerting concerning an intimate partner violence related dispute in progress. Members of the Smiths Falls Police responded to the scene to commence the investigation. One suspect was arrested at the scene without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 27 year old female stands charged with assault (x1) and uttering threats (x1). The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.
Arrest made in IPV investigation
On November 20th, 2025 Smiths Falls Police communications centre received a 9-1-1 call for an intimate partner violence dispute in progress. Members of the Smiths Falls Police responded to the scene to start the investigation. A suspect in the investigation was identified and later surrendered themselves to police on November 21st, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, a 41 year old male from Lombardy stands charged with assault (x1) and failing to comply with undertaking (x1). The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.
Disturbance leads to charges
On November 21, 2025 Smiths Falls Police received information of an active disturbance outside of a residence. Members of the Smiths Falls Police responded to the area to investigate. A suspect was identified and later surrendered themselves to police on November 22nd, 2025 without incident.
As a result of the investigation, 30 year old Breton RICHARDSON stands charged with causing a disturbance (x1) and mischief under $5000 (x1). The accused was later released from custody with conditions and a scheduled court date.
Traffic stop leads to firearm charges
On November 25th, 2025 a member of the Smiths Falls Police was on a proactive patrol and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the downtown core. Further investigation lead to the discovery of a firearm and ammunition carelessly stored in the vehicle. The driver was arrested at the scene and the firearms were seized from the vehicle as part of the investigation.
As a result of the investigation, 23 year old Bradley JESSUP of Merrickville stands charged with careless use of firearm, ammunition (x2) and failure to surrender authorization (x1). The accused was additionally charged with multiple provincial offences under the highway traffic act. The accused was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a scheduled court date.
