Friday night’s game against the Carleton Place Canadians didn’t really hold any surprises for anyone. The Bears had to yield to the leading team of the league with a 4:6 loss, although not without putting up a good fight.

Ryan Richardson, assisted by Helmer and McLean, put the Bears to an early lead 35 seconds into the game. Ben Brunette evened the score for the Canadians at 4:27 in the first period. The Bears regained the lead with a score by Tate Leeson at 8:24, assisted by Todd. Cameron McLean, assisted by Richardson, widened the Bears lead with another score at 19:05. Carleton Place then took control of the game, starting with a score by Andrei Hromic at 19:41.

The Canadians continued to hammer the Bears through much of the second period, first a score by David Gagnon at 1:14, then another goal by Andrei Hromic at 8:38, and finally a power play goal by Brett Thorne at 18:09. The Bears briefly caught a break with Tate Leeson’s second goal of the game at 19:07, assisted by Nicholson and Sloan.

The final goal of the game was however achieved by Ryland Mosley at 14:25 in the third period.

First Star of the game was awarded to Andrej Hromic (CPC), Second Star went to Cameron McLean, and Brett Thorne (CPC) took home Third Star.

The final regular season game will be played this Friday at 7:30pm at the Den, and after that it’s PLAYOFFS TIME.
