Bears hit rough patch losing another game, to Navan Grads

Posted on: February 25, 2020

The Bears have seemingly hit a patch of rough ice lately with a string of losses at home and abroad. In all fairness, the game Friday night against the Navan Grads could have went either way, both teams were fairly evenly matched, but in the end the Bears had to contend with a 1:3 loss. One of the main issues plaguing the team is the struggle to translate shots on the net into actual scores, in this game they out-shot Navan 33 to 21, but weren’t able to use that advantage.

The first two periods saw no scoring.

Navan ended the impasse with a goal by Mason Goldie at 1:54 in the third period. The Bears saw a renewed chance with Ryan Richardson’s goal at 5:19, with the assists being credited to Brent Broaders and Ethan Nystrom. But Zane Dalpe’s goal at 13:50, followed by Seva Losev’s goal at 18:20, quashed any hope for the Bears.

Ryan Richardson earned First Star, Alex Wisco (NAV) went home with Second Star, and Seva Losev (NAV) was awarded Third Star.
