Carleton Place lights up the night with “Streetscape Showcase” art installation

SUBMITTED

The Downtown Carleton Place BIA is proud to announce the launch of an innovative placemaking project designed to engage visitors with light, colour and artwork in the heritage shopping and dining district after dark. Streetscape Showcase is the culmination of months of collaboration between Downtown Carleton Place BIA, STEPS Public Art and SAVI Spotlight AV Industries through the I heART Main St Progam. At six locations along Bridge St projectors cast colourful artwork onto the sidewalks between the Moore House (the information centre) and the Post Office. This project extends the theme of a visual light exhibition from the recently completed Central Bridge which lights up over the Mississippi River, and will be illuminated to coordinate with the artwork from March 22-28th 2024.  A brief introduction to the community will occur on Monday, March 25th at 7:30 pm at 170 Bridge Street.

“ We’re thrilled to champion creative placemaking and innovation in public art through our I HeART Main Street Program. Streetscape Showcase, which encourages community-building through light and technology, exemplifies our commitment to pushing creative boundaries and making public spaces more welcoming. “
