Self Defense Seminar
Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct 19 (time TBD)

Nerf Battle
Sunday, Oct. 19, 1 to 2 p.m.
at the Beckwith Recreation Complex (indoor turf), 1319 9th Line. Free event hosted by the Beckwith Youth Committee. Bring your own Nerf blaster, ammo will be provided, and safety goggles are required. Register here.

Carleton Place events

Family Halloween Dance
Sunday, Oct. 19, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Upper floor of the Carleton Place Arena. Crafts, treats, and dancing for tiny ghouls (toddler/Disney music) from 9:30 to 10:30, and all monsters (family friendly dance music) from 10:30 to noon. 

Lanark events

Fall Colours Walk
Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Blueberry Mountain, 502 Hills of Peace Rd.
Celebrate the beauty of autumn with MMLT’s annual Fall Colours Walk at Blueberry Mountain at cliffLAND. Take in the breathtaking views and vibrant foliage at one of Lanark County’s most beloved hiking destinations, all while supporting local land conservation. Hosted by the Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust. Free of charge.

Montague events

Kids Halloween Dance
Friday, Oct. 17, 7 to 9 p.m.
at the Rosedale Hall, 657 Rosedale Rd S. Priezs for costumes, loot bags, music. For kids ages six to 12 years.

Smiths Falls events

Small Town Feeling Breast Cancer Awareness Halloween Ball
Saturday, Oct. 18, 6 p.m. at the Smiths Falls Royal Canadian Legion, 7 Main St. E. Entertainment by The Continentals, and admission $10. Live Auction and Gift Basket Draws with all proceeds to the Perth & Smiths Falls Hospital.

Fall Bazaar
Saturday, Oct. 18, noon to 4 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 2 George St. 

Family Halloween Hunt
Saturday, Oct. 18 at Leisure Days, 165 Lombard St. Costume contest, games for kids, babecue lunch, candy hunt. Bring a food donation to help support the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank. 

Heritage Symposium
Saturday, Oct. 18, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Masonic Lodge, 46 Russell St. W. This is the 14th annual event and the price is $15, per person includes lunch (payment at town hall or exact cash at the door). 

Mystic Market
Saturday, Oct. 18, 5 to 10 p.m., Russell St. E. Tarot, vendors, performers and more, free entry. 

Haunted Heritage House
Saturday, Oct. 18, 7 to 9 p.m., Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum, 11 Old Slys Rd.
Tickets are $10 and must be purchased in advance at the museum or through Eventbrite. 

Chicken dinner
Sunday, Oct. 19, 5 p.m. Hanley Hall, upper hall, 30 McGill St.
, hot supper includes chicken breast, potatoes, veggies, dinner roll and dessert, coffee or tea. Advance tickets only before Oct. 17. Tickets are $20 for adults, and children 10 and under are free.
