Impaired charge laid after a collision on Roger Stevens Drive

A Toronto resident has been charged following a single vehicle collision on Roger Stevens Drive.

Officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Smiths Falls Police Service, Lanark County Paramedics and Montague Township Fire Department responded to a collision shortly before 5:30 a.m. on April 27, 2024, in Montague Township. A car had left Roger Stevens Drive, just west of Rosedale Road. It struck a hydro pole and flipped over.

The driver was transported to an Ottawa hospital with serious injuries. Testing conducted at the scene and at the hospital resulted in the driver being arrested.

Shakhboz YULDASHEV, age 37 of Toronto has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on June 3, 2024.
