Local residents’ concerns reviewed

On the council agenda was a letter signed by several Tysick Ave., residents concerned with final grading, fencing, and ineffective privacy measures, among other issues related to their new rear-yard neighbour, Lanark Lifestyles Phase 2. The rear of the new seniors-lifestyle residence’s property (primarily used for parking) sits 5 feet about the backyard levels of the Tysick Ave. homes. The majority of councillors commented that they visited the site to view the concerns for themselves and seemed to support the resident’s positions that corrections were warranted. The letter stated that the builder of the facility was in contravention of planning agreements in several areas, specifically set-back allowances.

Council requested development staff review the letter and its issues and report back early in the New Year.
