Obituary of Carol Ann Botham

Carol Ann Botham

November 27, 1939 – December 3, 2025

Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Carol Botham passed away on December 3rd at the age of 86. After many years apart, Carol’s family takes great comfort in knowing that she is now resting in eternal peace with her soulmate, Hal Botham.

Carol is lovingly remembered by her children Kathy and Barry (Cathy), Grandchildren Nicholas (Sara), Taylor, Ryan (Amanda) and great grandchildren Bryson, Leonora, Aidan, Jones and Carson. She is survived by her brother Sandy (Betty), many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as beloved neighbours Lindsay, Keith, Emma, Adam, Katie, Hannah, Tara and Ryan.

Carol was the heart of her family, and undeniably proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was genuine to a fault, always offered her opinion, words of advice, and the only thing she sugar coated was her bowl of strawberries. Her tenacity, wit, charm, grace and undying love for her family will never be forgotten.

She enjoyed her office work over the years, particularly her time with the Perth Fair for over 15 years. In her retirement she frequently attended theatre performances with friends, shared her talents of baking and sewing with those she loved, and never said no going out for lunch or dinner.

Following Carol’s wishes a formal service will not be held, Carol’s immediate family will have a private burial and gathering. Knowing her wit and charm she would be thinking, “Don’t cry because I’m gone. Instead, have a drink and be happy you knew me. If you feel the need to cry make it quick; I’ll allow a brief sob.”

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Smiths Falls site of the Smiths Falls and Perth District Hospital, with a special thank you to Angelina Heliotis. As per Carol’s request, donations made to the Smiths Falls site of the Smiths Falls and Perth District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors Smiths Falls.
