Town of Perth announces limited re-opening of Town Hall, Fire Hall, Museum/Tourism Office and Indoor Pool

As part of the Province of Ontario’s plan to gradually begin offering services to the public, the Town of Perth will be re-opening the Town Hall, Fire Hall, Museum/Tourism Office and the Indoor Pool during the week of June 22nd , 2020.  Protocols to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic will be in place and some services will be modified.

The Town Hall will re-open on Monday, June 22nd with reduced hours from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. All visitors will be asked to enter the front door and exit by the side door.  A maximum of 6 customers will be admitted into the building at any one time and the front door will be supervised. Residents are encouraged to continue to do business over the phone or online if possible.

The Fire Hall will also re-open on Monday, June 22nd with reduced hours from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. For general inquiries please call 613-267-5574 or dial 911 for emergencies.

The Visitor Information Centre and the onsite public washroom will re-open on Thursday, June 25th and remain open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. Perth Museum will be open by appointment only during the same hours. Reservations can be made by calling 613-267-1947. Visitors to the Museum or those seeking information can enter from the courtyard on the north side of the building, and request assistance from Staff.

The Perth and District Indoor Pool will re-open with reduced services on Monday, June 22nd . Only Lane Swims will be available and users must reserve a spot in advance.  Each lane swim will allow a maximum of 12 people in the pool.  Lane swims will alternate with an hour for cleaning and for patrons to exit and the next set of patrons to enter the building.  The change rooms will be open for use and social distancing guidelines must be followed.  Users can use the online booking tool at www.perth.ca/laneswimbooking starting at 8:00 am on June 17, 2020 or call the Pool at 613-267-5302 to assist with booking. General inquiries should continue to be made over the phone.

The Town will not be offering its summer Pool Day Camp at this time due to the challenges of operating within the COVID-19 guidelines.

The public washrooms outside Town Hall, the one unisex washroom at the Crystal Palace, the washrooms beside the docks at Last Duel Park, and the washrooms in the chalet at Conlon Farm are open from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.

Mayor John Fenik states, “It is great to be able to offer more services to our residents, however we caution everyone to continue following social distancing guidelines and be vigilant about hand washing. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 please stay home and follow the guidance of the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit.”
