Conservative incumbent MP Scott Reid has been re-elected in Lanark—Frontenac following a tight race against Liberal challenger Michelle Foxton.

Preliminary results show Reid winning 50.3 per cent of the vote, with 33,595 ballots cast in his favour. Foxton finished close behind with 45.5 per cent support, collecting 30,397 votes.
New Democratic Party candidate Danielle Rae received 2.9 per cent (1,962 votes), while Green Party candidate Jesse Pauley earned 1.3 per cent (855 votes).

Voter turnout was high at 74.7 per cent, with 66,809 of 89,448 registered electors casting ballots. The riding’s total population is listed at 103,120.

The local results reflect a night of tight races across eastern Ontario, even as the Liberal Party surged nationally to form a fourth Liberal government.

Prime Minister Mark Carney secured his seat in Nepean. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre lost his Carleton seat on a ballot with 90 candidates. NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh also lost his seat in Burnaby Central, B.C., contributing to his party’s steep drop to just seven seats nationwide.

Final results, including advance and special ballots, will be confirmed in the coming days.
